1. Jatin Goswami – Padma Bhushan 2025 (Art – Sattriya Dance)

About:
Sattriya dance maestro Jatin Goswami has been conferred the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award, for his tireless efforts in popularising Sattriya, one of India’s eight classical dance forms.

  • Played a key role in getting Sattriya recognized as a classical dance form by the Sangeet Natak Akademi.
  • Founded multiple institutions, including the Sattriya Akademi, for training young dancers.

2. Joynacharan Bathari – Padma Shri 2025 (Art – Dimasa Folk Music)

Born in 1940, Joynacharan Bathari is a veteran folk artist and community leader who has preserved the Dimasa tribal music tradition through his lifelong efforts.

  • Master of traditional instruments like Khram (drum) and Muri (bamboo flute).
  • Performed at All India Radio stations and cultural events across Tripura, Assam, and Delhi.

3. Prof. Anil Kumar Boro – Padma Shri 2025 (Literature & Education – Bodo & Tribal Studies)

🟢 Affiliation: Gauhati University

About:
A distinguished folklorist and linguist, Prof. Anil Kumar Boro has dedicated his life to the documentation, teaching, and promotion of Bodo and other tribal languages of Northeast India.

  • Integral in shaping and implementing mother-tongue education under the NEP 2020 in Bodoland.
