Government of Gujarat Plans Cheetah Breeding Centre in Kutch
The Government of Gujarat has announced plans to set up a ₹14.70 crore conservation breeding centre in the Banni grasslands of Kutch, following approval from the central government. The initiative aims to rehabilitate cheetahs while also restoring grasslands impacted by invasive plant species. As part of the project, grass will be planted across 5,000 hectares next year, according to state forest minister Arjunbhai Modhwadia.
