Eligibility Criteria for APSC CCE 2025
1. Nationality & Domicile
- Must be an Indian Citizen
- Must be an original inhabitant of Assam
- Must be registered in a District Employment Office of Assam
2. Age Limit (as on 01.01.2025)
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 38 years
- Relaxation:
- SC/ST(P)/ST(H): 5 years (up to 43 years)
- OBC/MOBC: 3 years (up to 41 years)
- PwBD: 10 years (irrespective of category)
3. Educational Qualification
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University. Final year students can also apply, but they must produce the degree certificate at the time of Main Examination.
4. Language Requirement
Candidate should be able to speak Assamese or any other official/tribal language of Assam.

APSC CCE 2025 Exam Pattern
Preliminary Examination (Screening Test)
- Two Papers (Objective MCQ)
- Paper-I: General Studies I → 200 marks, 2 hours
- Paper-II: General Studies II (Qualifying) → 200 marks, 2 hours (minimum 33% required)
- Negative Marking: ¼ mark deducted for wrong answer
Main Examination (Written + Interview)
- 6 Conventional Papers (Essay + 5 General Studies)
- Each paper: 250 marks, 3 hours
- Interview/Personality Test: 180 marks
- Total Marks: 1680

Preliminary Examination Syllabus
Paper-I: General Studies I (200 Marks)
- Current events of national and international importance
- History of India and Indian National Movement
- Indian and World Geography – Physical, Social, Economic geography of India and the World
- Indian Polity and Governance – Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
- Economic and Social Development – Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.
- General issues on Environmental Ecology, Biodiversity and Climate Change (no subject specialization required)
- General Science
- Assam-specific topics: History, Geography, Polity, Economy, Culture and Current Affairs of Assam
Paper-II: General Studies II (CSAT) (200 Marks – Qualifying Paper)
- Comprehension
- Interpersonal skills including communication skills
- Logical reasoning and analytical ability
- Decision-making and problem-solving
- General mental ability
- Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level)
- Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency, etc.) (Class X level)
Note: Minimum qualifying marks for Paper-II is 33%.
Main Examination Syllabus
The Main Examination consists of six conventional papers:
- Paper-1: Essay (250 marks, 3 hours) – Candidates have to write two essays (one from each section)
- Papers 2 to 6: General Studies I to V (250 marks each, 3 hours per paper)

Women candidates are completely exempted from application fee as per government policy.
Important Instructions & Tips from APSC
- Only one application is allowed. The last submitted application will be considered.
- Persons in Government service must submit NOC at the time of Interview.
- PwBD candidates requiring scribe must submit certificate as per Appendix-II/III.
- Centres for Prelims: 34 centres across Assam (including Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Silchar, etc.)
- Main Exam will be held only in Guwahati.
