Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess a Graduate Degree in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government. Candidates must upload all semester/year mark sheets and final pass certificate.
Age Limit (as on 01/01/2026)
- General: 21 – 38 years
- OBC/MOBC: Up to 41 years
- SC/ST: Up to 43 years
- Ex-Servicemen: Maximum 50 years (further relaxable as per rules)
Nationality: Indian Citizen and permanent resident of Assam (PRC or Employment Exchange Registration required). Minimum physical standards as per rules apply.

- Login and fill the online application form.

The selection will be made through:
- Written Examination (Paper-I: 200 marks + Paper-II: 200 marks)
- Physical Standards Test & Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Medical Standards Test

Probable Syllabus for APSC Class-I Home Guard Written Exam
The detailed syllabus is as per notification. The written exam consists of two papers:
Paper-I: General Ability & Intelligence Test (200 Marks – Objective MCQ)
- General Mental Ability
- General Science
- Current Events of National and International Importance
- Indian Polity and Economy
- History of India
- Indian and World Geography
Paper-II: General Studies, Essay and Comprehension (200 Marks)
- Essay (in English or Assamese) – 80 Marks
- Comprehension, Précis writing and other language/communication skills (English only) – 120 Marks
Male: 100m in 16 sec, 800m in 3:45 min, Long Jump 3.5m
Female: 100m in 18 sec, 800m in 4:45 min, Long Jump 3.0m
