Iran Puts Forward Conditions for Safe Passage of Indian Ships Through Hormuz Strait
Iran has reportedly outlined two key demands to India in exchange for guaranteeing the safe movement of Indian vessels through the Strait of Hormuz. According to Reuters, Tehran wants the release of three tankers linked to Iran that were detained by India in February. Indian authorities had accused these vessels of hiding or altering their identities and carrying out unlawful ship-to-ship transfers at sea. In addition, Iran has requested that India provide medicines and medical supplies as part of the negotiations.
