A chick of the Great Indian Bustard has hatched in Gujarat after a gap of ten years, marking a major success in conservation efforts. Bhupender Yadav shared the development, highlighting the use of the innovative ‘Jumpstart’ approach.

Under Project Great Indian Bustard, a captive-bred egg from Rajasthan was placed in a wild nest in the Kutch region. The chick hatched on March 26 and is now being nurtured by a foster mother, offering renewed hope for the revival of this critically endangered species.
